At the risk of revealing my age, there’s this moment, when Mark Darcy…. Oh fuck me, Mark Darcy!! Tells Bridget that he likes her ‘just as you are’
Not! If she lost weight
Not! If she dressed differently
All the things she thinks she should change… no, no! just as she is!

You know what Im about to say don’t you?
Because you want this boudoir shoot!
You keep telling yourself all the things you need to ‘fix’ first before you should book.
But you also deserve to just be allowed to love yourself, just as you are!
And that doesn’t mean you can’t do things to improve areas of unhappiness but please don’t get stuck in the cycle of denying yourself things that make you happy until you warrant yourself worthy of them.

When are we going to start being the loves of our own lives?
Think about it. Think about someone you have loved with your whole heart.
On a daily basis did you want them to know how obsessed you were with them?
It mattered for them to know they were worthy, that they were loved.
Did it matter when their body fluctuated? They were still loveable to you!
Those quirky parts of them, you found endearing.

Imagine, if you gave yourself that kind of forgivable love. That when you see your body fluctuate you didn’t see yourself less worthy but just a person living, a moment in time.
Imagine if you told yourself you were loveable, that all your quirky parts make up who you are.

Who would you be?

For the people you were related to and loved…. The parts of them that brought you comfort, or made you smile with fondness, are the very same things you don’t like about yourself (My grandmothers chubby little fingers that I adored but hate on myself)
The features you have passed onto your daughter, that you probably inherited from your mother, and her mother, or her mother….. a legacy of the women who came before and the women you are raising…. But not seeing the beauty in those exact features on your own body.

Just as you are!

A boudoir session is a journey, to finding your way to love yourself and I mean, there are worse things in the world than women who have decided to love themselves.

Just as you are!
